Lucky bamboo, the term has not remained that unfamiliar with people who actually have one or two placed at their homes.

Those who are gardening freaks have a special inclination for this pant, but those who are not are also seemed to develop excessive likeability for this type of seed as they know how graceful and useful it is.

Reason why bamboo is accompanied with the word lucky is that it is believed that if such plants are gifted by relative friends or any one, they bring fortune and good luck to the recipient. That is why, almost every gift shop and store features these lucky bamboos as popular gift items with them.

Once placed at home, these lucky bamboos require extra care and concern by the caretaker. It does not take much if one is aware of the basic tips as to how to care for a lucky bamboo placed at home. It simply goes under few of the steps including:

1) Light: The major concern of care for lucky bamboos includes the abundant and sufficient availability of light that is a hard core requirement of lucky bamboos. Avoid placing the lucky bamboo in direct sunlight as there is risk of getting the leaves scorched. Place them where light is available in little quantity. If the greenery seems to fade, give them more light.

2) Watering: It is the next crucial aspect of plant care. Always water your lucky bamboo with bottled or distilled water as it stands the best choice for its care and concern. Never use water that has chlorine or other chemicals in them as they are intolerant to such elements. Maintain a good hygiene and replace the water every week.

3) Potting Media: Else than water, lucky bamboo can also be grown in the well-drained and rich potting soil.

4) Temperature: When it comes to care for lucky bamboo, temperature is a major factor to consider. Place the lucky bamboo plants under a temperature of 65ºF and 90ºF. Avoid placing them in front of air coolers, or heating events as this will harm them.

5) Fertilizers: Lucky bamboo is expected t be filed every other month taking into use a very light and liquid fertilizers, a little drop of such a fertilizer stands enough to care for lucky bamboos.
